FAQs

Q: Why choose the R-cube Monitoring System?
A: The R-cube Monitoring System is the most effective, most affordable, easiest to use personal emergency response system on the market today. It’s that simple.

Q: Is the R-Cube system UL 1069 compliant?

A: Yes. The R-Cube system is compliant with UL 1069, Edition 7. This is the premiere industry standard for wireless nurse call systems.

Q: Is there a monthly fee?
A: There are no recurring fees to the R-Cube system. However, if a facility chooses to have an offsite central station monitor their emergency calls, that will require a separate fee.

Q: Is the R-cube Monitoring System easy to learn and operate?
A: Absolutely. The R-cube system was designed so that anyone can use it, regardless of technical aptitude.

Q: What are the basic components?
A: There are three main components: Transmitters (Wearable Transmitters, Pull Cords, Door Monitors, Motion Sensors); Locator Network (Locators, Repeaters, and Master Receiver); and a Base Unit (R-Cube).

Q: Do residents have to be re-located during installation?
A: No. There is virtually no disruption to the facility residents when the system is installed.

Q: What's the warranty period?
A: One year comprehensive warranty.

Q: What is the maximum range?
A: Each Master Receiver can handle up to 4096 locators and repeaters, which can cover over 17 square miles in open air. This is the equivalent of over 14 Central Parks.

Q: Do I need a hard-wired phone infrastructure?
A: No phone lines are required, and no phones need to be purchased.

Q: Will my existing RF devices (wireless phones, pagers, wireless internet) interfere with operation?
A: Not likely. The R-cube Monitoring System utilizes frequency hopping to get through even the most cluttered wireless area.

Q: What is the susceptibility of the system to false alarms?
A: Virtually none. Every transmission by all devices is encoded and error checked.

Q: My facility has very heavy construction (dense materials and thick walls). Will this decrease the effectiveness of the system?
A: While heavier construction facilities do block more RF transmissions, this is taken into account during the design process so there will be no decrease in system effectiveness.

Q: Can the R-cube integrate with third party Paging Encoders?
A: Because the R-cube uses the standard TAP protocol, it can interface with most third party paging encoders.

Q: What distributors install and service R-Care products?
A: Please call us at 1-888-724-1911 for your region’s official Response Care Distributor.

Q: Are maintenance contracts available?
A: All contractors offer an optional maintenance contract with installation. Contact your regional distributor for details.

Q: Can the R-Cube Monitoring System interface with an offsite central station to respond to calls?
A: The R-Cube system can be configured with or without a central station, depending on facility needs and capabilities.
